What Vehicle Detection Does
A vehicle loop or other detector senses a vehicle in a designated area and can provide an input to the gate control system.
Detection Is Not Universal Protection
Vehicle detection and entrapment protection serve different purposes. One cannot automatically substitute for the other.

Ask about driveway layout, vehicle queues, pedestrian routes, detector placement, controller compatibility, and commissioning.
Professional Installation
Loop cutting, wiring, and controller configuration should follow the detector and operator instructions.
Separate Convenience From Safety
A vehicle detector may help a gate respond to an approaching or waiting car, but its detection area and controller function are specific. It does not necessarily detect a child, bicycle, or person near a trapping point.
A Useful Layout Review
Ask the installer to map where vehicles stop, queue, turn, and exit. Discuss what happens if a car remains in the gate path, how a visitor triggers entry, and how the system behaves during a detector fault. Entrapment protection needs its own assessment.
